U.S. stocks opened lower on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average and Nasdaq Composite and the S&P 500 falling more than 1%, as broad-based selling weighed on investor sentiment.
S&P 500 futures held mostly steady, up 0.05%, while Nasdaq futures, down 0.025%, struggled to build on the AI-driven rally that has recently pushed stocks to record highs.
Markets enter today’s session on the back of another weak close. Indian stocks slipped for a fourth straight session on June 1, as the Sensex fell 508.4 points, or 0.68%, at 74,267.34, and the Nifty slipped 165.15 points, or 0.70%, at 23,382.60. It was trading at levels below 23,400, signalling cautiousness among investors.
