Alabama’s high school sports body has approved a first-ever public-private postseason split, and coaches, players and the author weigh its pros and cons under the new classifications.

The University Interscholastic League has released the UIL Reclassification & Realignment for the 2026-28 school years. Several schools in Texas will compete in new districts starting next season.
