The election for the posts of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) was held unopposed today after the Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) withdrew from the contest. BJP’s Manjusha Nagpure was elected Mayor, while Parshuram Wadekar of the BJP–Republican Party (Athawale faction) was elected Deputy Mayor without opposition. The election process began at 11:15 am in the PMC’s main hall. Presiding Officer Jitendra Dudi conducted the proceedings. Earlier, BJP group
