Members of the 332nd Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron Raven-B flight conduct a patrol of the perimeter using a Raven-B aircraft to get a bird's eye view of the base at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. Though they're one of the smallest Raven-B flights, they boast the most hours flown at any base in the area of responsibility. On this day in 1991, the Air Force EF-111 Raven (Spark-Vark) crew of Captain James Denton and Captain Brent Brandon achieved an unofficial kill against an Iraqi Dassault Mirage F1, which they managed to maneuver into the ground, making it the only member of the F-111/FB-111/EF-111 family to achieve an aerial victory over another aircraft. This is particularly remarkable because the Raven was completely unarmed and relied entirely on speed and acceleration for defense (and in this case, offense).
