Norfolk & Western 2-6-6-4 1218. It was this day 37 years ago that the freshly restored A class locomotive was making a deadhead and test run from Birmingham, AL to hometown Roanoke, VA. | Dynamo Productions

This past weekend, more cosmetic restoration work was performed on the 1218. The rods on the front engine of the fireman’s side were sanded, primed, and then an aluminum paint finish was applied.
