When we fabricate wire rope slings with slider choker hooks for overhead lifting, they're automatically "eye and eye" slings: one large eye for the attachment point and one small eye to go over the hook and form the choker. The smaller eye is much harder to splice than the larger eye because of the radius of the eye. You can see in our example, where we used 3/4" bright wire rope, the strands are quite stiff and a bit of a challenge to work with. You have to do all three spliced strands separate
